pub-type Type of Publication
Combined form of both the type and format of publication, combined. This attribute
comes from an older version of JATS; Deprecated in NISO STS.
Usage/Remarks
Best Practice
This attribute, which is used only on the elements <issn> and <pub-date>, reflects an older version of JATS, which used specific precombined values. For NISO
STS, Best Practice is:
- Use the <release-date> element instead of <pub-date> to hold the date on which a standards document is published. The element <pub-date> is being phased out.
- For <issn>, the attributes @publication-format and @pub-type or @specific-use can replace, in different attributes, the precombined values of the JATS @pub-type attribute.
OPTIONAL on elements: <issn>, <pub-date>
Value | Meaning |
---|---|
Text, numbers, or special characters | Precombined type and format of the document. Best Practice is not to use this attribute. See Remarks above. |
